Denver Community Rallies Together in Search for Missing Hair Stylist

In Denver, a neighborhood is looking for someone they care about deeply, who has been missing since April 15th. Law enforcement officials have now launched an investigation into this person’s vanishing.

Jax Gratton, who is 34 years old, was most recently seen departing her apartment in the University Hills area as witnessed by her roommate.

Gratton leases a suite at Solera Salon Suites in Denver. Because each stylist operates independently, it was several days before anyone noticed she wasn’t coming into work.

Brandy Carey, who manages the salon and is friends with Gratton, became quite moved as she showcased Gratton's suite, untouched since her last day at work on April 13.

Two days later, Gratton went missing, leaving her friends and family worried about her well-being.

"It was when she was missing client appointments, especially certain clients who she is very close with, outside the salon, that we realized something wasn't quite right," Carey said. "We started communicating with each other -- 'have you seen Jax? have you seen Jax?' Everybody was like, 'no, we haven't heard from her.'"

More red flags were raised after her parents hadn't heard from her over the Easter holiday weekend, and it was discovered that she had left behind her beloved cat, makeup, and medication she depends on.

"It just doesn't seem right for someone to leave without any medicine. Your fur baby's not taking care of.," said Carey. "No plan for medication, no clothes, no makeup. As a trans woman, she's going to bring her makeup with her."

To her friends, family, and Denver's LGBTQ community, things just aren't adding up, and they're doing everything they can to raise awareness for her disappearance.

Carey initiated a Facebook page titled Find Jax Gratton Denver while friends, family members, and fellow stylists have been scouring the city.

Posters are plastered throughout Denver, and social media shares are increasing. All with the aim of welcoming back the cherished and dedicated hairstylist.

"Jax adds much more to people's lives than just a salon experience," Carey stated.

She aimed to convey that every little piece of information matters. She's encouraging anybody with knowledge regarding Gratton's absence or location to get in touch with the Denver police at 720-913-2000, mentioning case number #25-5001497.
