Dembele Gives PSG Edge in Champions League Semi-Final Against Arsenal

In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinal clash, Ousmane Dembele’s swift goal gave Paris Saint-Germain an edge over Arsenal when they emerged victorious with a narrow scoreline of 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, April 29. Scoring just four minutes into the match, Dembele provided PSG with the crucial breakthrough which allowed them to maintain their slight but vital advantage throughout the game despite facing persistent pressure from Arsenal. This result put PSG within striking distance of securing their place in the final.

For the first time since 2009, Arsenal reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they showed improvement following an unimpressive beginning. A goal by Mikel Merino was disallowed during this match, which saw Gianluigi Donnarumma make several crucial saves to keep a clean sheet. Despite having opportunities to extend their advantage before the return game, PSG’s Bradley Barcola and Gonçalo Ramos failed to capitalize on their chances at scoring.
