College Students Discover Career Opportunities in Their Community

ANCHorage, ALASKA (KTuu) -- During Career Week at College Gate Elementary School, Melissa Frey had the opportunity to interact with students from first through third grade, discussing her experiences as a television meteorologist.

The students posed many excellent queries to Melissa, such as what aspects of her role she enjoys most and which parts she finds most challenging.

They've got plenty of time before deciding their future careers, but they're starting to glimpse some of the options available to them now.

This week, they will explore an extensive range of career opportunities within our community. They'll listen to insights from professionals such as pilots, nurses, teachers, and CEOs, and gain knowledge about roles in fields like law enforcement, art, commerce, and engineering.

Melissa was highly impressed by their thoughtful questions and curiosity.
