“Careers in Care” event helps healthcare jobseekers connect

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - OhioMeansJobs hosted the “Careers in Care” hiring event from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Washington Co. Fairgrounds Civitan Building on Wednesday.

The event acted as an opportunity for job seekers interested in the healthcare field to make connections with local employers and educators.

Throughout the event employers and educators were present to answer any questions participants may have had while also letting them know of opportunities available to them in the healthcare field.

Erica Chidester, medical programs manager at the Washington County Career Center was present at the event.

She explains how the event helps everyone from job seekers, educators, and employers.

“...the employers being here, they can just feed off of that and you know, talk about, you know, what they can do with their training after they’re done with the training at the Washington Career Center and the paths they can get into because a lot of them do help pay for that education. So, you know, if we can get them into our door and then push them on to the employers for that, their employment, it’s a win-win for everybody.”
