Brave Boy Attacked: 'Coward' Stabs Teen Outside KFC

A man who carried out a "cowardly" assault by stabbing a teenager outside a fast-food restaurant in Nottingham has been sentenced to prison.

Reegan Smith, aged 20, from Caunton Avenue in St Ann's stabbed the boy at the rear during an altercation close to KFC on Hucknall Lane, Bulwell, on October 6th.

Johnson, aged 19 at the time, was apprehended the next day and subsequently admitted guilt to charges of inflicting serious bodily injury with intent and carrying a blade in public in November.

At a Nottingham Crown Court proceeding on Wednesday, he received a sentence of four years and ten months at a youth detention facility. Additionally, he must serve an extension of three years on supervised license following his release.

The police stated that Smith was close to the quick-service eatery when one of his acquaintances became involved in a altercation with an 17-year-old male around 14:55 GMT.

Following a brief exchange of blows between them for a few seconds, according to officials, Smith chose to intervene.

As the victim struggled with his friend, Smith sneaked up from behind and took out a knife from his pocket. He then employed the blade to stab the youth in the back prior to making an escape.

The police mentioned that the boy was unaware of his stab wound until after Smith had departed from the parking lot where the altercation occurred.

He was transported to the hospital for injuries that were considered neither life-threatening nor transformative.

After Reegan Smith was sentenced, Detective Constable Ben Grayson stated: "The actions of Reegan Smith that day resulted in injuries to his victim which, fortunately, could have been much worse."

Their aggressive actions and choice to assault another individual from behind, catching them off guard, were equally reprehensible and despicable acts of cowardice.
