Boom Heard! Explosive Demolition Training Ongoing at Hurlburt Field Until May 2
HURLBURT FIELD – Individuals residing close to Hurlburt Field might experience loud sounds or tremors this week due to the base’s explosives demolition training taking place until May 2nd.
The training began on April 29 and will run until May 2. The drills are planned from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, with the exception of May 2, when they will conclude at 1 p.m.
Blasts are scheduled to happen at various times each day during the drills. Although these explosions are managed, authorities caution that their noise and tremors could be more pronounced based on atmospheric circumstances.
The training is a standard part of the operations at Hurlburt Field.
