• Offensive tackle: Last year, Williams came close to setting an NFL record for the highest number of sacks allowed in a single season. Although he needs to enhance his pocket presence and timing heading into 2025, it would be wise for the Bears to find a dominant force along the defensive line to help reduce the pressure on him.
• Running back: The Overton window keeps moving concerning the role of running backs. A little over a year ago, it was popular to downplay the importance of the position. However, standout performances from players like Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, and Jahmyr Gibbs demonstrate that this spot remains significant. Witnessing the effect of a dominant rushing attack with the Lions, Johnson might consider building something comparable for the Bears.
• EDGE: In 2024, Chicago’s defense had difficulty limiting opposing teams' passing game, allowing the sixth-highest number of passing yards and tenth-most touchdown passes. The main issue was the absence of an outstanding pass-rushing presence.
