Local Author Offers Free 'Chapter a Day' of Supreme Court Thriller: "Moral Code"

The book, penned within six weeks during a furlough stint amid the pandemic, serves as a prelude to her first novel. The earlier work, titled 'The World Within,' is a visionary fiction piece that took six years to complete alongside full-time employment.

What prompted Adriana to start writing the book:

Five years back, amid the pandemic, I penned 'Six Shamans And A Visionary.' My aim was to craft a narrative centered around a governmental framework where authority rested with virtuous individuals rather than being seized by selfish ones. This work delves into the significance of the Supreme Court—the ultimate legal body—and underscores the critical responsibility of selecting those who safeguard this institution—individuals whose essence comprises empathy, rationality, moral uprightness, fortitude, equilibrium, honesty, affection, sympathy, and forward-thinking vision.

'Six Shamans And A Visionary' can now be found online through platforms like Waterstones, Hatchards, and Amazon. However, the author shares why she chose to make her book freely accessible one chapter at a time.

This narrative serves as a political critique set against the backdrop of folk-inspired fantasy. However, certain events unfolding today are not part of fiction; they're grim realities affecting people across the globe—a situation that seems to be worsening rapidly. It appears that democracies worldwide, particularly in the U.S., are crumbling before our eyes, which strongly motivated me to pen this tale. I certainly didn't anticipate witnessing another tenure from the present administration and president.

This book doesn't stand out in any particular manner nor is it exceptionally well-written. Let me clarify; I'm not attempting to join a trend or leverage the current frightening circumstances unfolding in the United States for personal gain. Actually, I penned this book due to a necessity felt personally. Through it, I was able to delve into the finest aspects of human nature within a society that recklessly relinquishes control to undeserving individuals. This is truly the essence of the story.

By posting her novella across 22 days on her 'Six Shamans And A Visionary' Facebook page, she aims to provide a brief respite from the overwhelming burden of global issues that constantly bombard our screens.

Continuous news coverage offers numerous benefits, yet within a television landscape that often highlights the most negative aspects of human behavior, I believe it's crucial to emphasize and appreciate our positive attributes as a people. Sadly, we can’t correct all the wrongs brought about by life’s beasts, yet there remain actions we can take. We can explore the significance of positive human traits in contexts like actual political scenarios; we can assess our combined power as a group to combat ideologies akin to fascism; and we can encourage one another with the belief that bravery and persistence ensure goodness triumphs ultimately."
