Vallejo Police Arrest Suspect in Deadly Stabbing on April 15


The Vallejo Police Department has apprehended an individual in relation to the third killing reported in the city this year.
The police pinpointed Manuel Martinez as the person of interest in the fatal stabbing on April 15 According to a statement from the Vallejo Police Department, the Solano County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the victim is 48-year-old Tomas Garcia-Reyes, who lived in Vallejo. When emergency services reached the location, they found Mr. Garcia-Reyes standing and conversing; however, he soon lost consciousness shortly after their arrival, as indicated by dispatch recordings. Unfortunately, he passed away at a nearby medical facility.
The detectives, having pinpointed Martinez as a person of interest, were examining the location on the 2800 block of Redwood Parkway on April 17 when they spotted him nearby, stated the authorities. During an interview on Wednesday, Sergeant Rashad Hollis from the police department chose not to disclose further specifics regarding the event. Following this identification, investigators alerted the Vallejo patrol officers, leading to the arrest of the 31-year-old individual without any complications, as mentioned in the official statement.
Martinez is being detained without bail at the Solano County Jail due to one charge of murder, along with additional counts of robbery and conspiracy stemming from an open warrant in Napa County, as per jail documents. Court records indicate he is presently under the representation of the Solano County Public Defender’s office. The office spokesman mentioned that Martinez hasn’t been allocated a lawyer just yet.
Sgt. Rashad Hollis, the Vallejo police spokesperson, did not reply when asked for comments.
