Students Gain Unique Insights Into Tech Industry in Wilkes-Barre
WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — On Wednesday, local high school students received an engaging, hands-on glimpse into tech-related careers during CIS Day at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre.
Over 200 students gathered with approximately 30 technology firms to connect with leading regional employers and gain direct insights into job opportunities.
The activities were not just discussions; students participated in a technology-inspired edition of Monopoly, tackled challenges in an "IT Escape Room," and deciphered hidden code-words as well.
Answers earned "Monarch Money," which could be exchanged for rewards.
This annual event, entering its fifth consecutive year, aims to motivate additional youth to consider futures in technology.
