TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— After 18 months of planning, the Riverfront Master Plan has officially launched.

This initiative is a collaborative effort aimed at revitalizing the Wabash Riverfront, spearheaded by multiple entities such as the city of Terre Haute, Vigo County, Riverscape, and Thrive West Central. It represents an extensive strategy with objectives centered on boosting local economy both near and within the river area, ensuring secure and easy entry points, and establishing residential spaces alongside the waterbody. The overarching aim is to metamorphose the Wabash Riverfront into attractive locales that draw tourists and enhance everyday living standards for locals.

Lori Danielson, who serves as the Riverfront Development Director, stated, "When examining communities that have undertaken similar projects, we recognize that these initiatives will stimulate economic growth. They will attract fresh investment to our area, thereby boosting communal revenues and enhancing overall living standards."
